Email is optional but needed for "Send Reset Link" below — that's how a team member gets a link to set/reset their own password without an Admin typing one in for them. Picking Admin ignores Department above — Admin accounts are always placed in Management and see everything regardless of department.

These two lists feed the Department and Role dropdowns above (and the migration mapping) — same Settings-backed pattern as every other dropdown on this page. Add a new Department here (e.g. "Marketing") before it'll show up when adding or editing a team member.

Roles are the fixed seniority ladder (Admin / Head of Department / Manager / Associate) — permission logic across the backend depends on this exact ordering, so this list isn't editable here.
